From Local Setup to Nordic Coverage: A Trust-Based PV Partnership
Building a Nordic setup on a strong foundation
When Medice set out to establish local pharmacovigilance support in Scandinavia in 2022, the initial need was focused on Denmark. However, the scope soon expanded as the collaboration and trust developed.
Medice approached the selection process for a new service provider in a structured way to ensure that all legal requirements (globally and locally) were met. The ability to demonstrate regulatory expertise and practical experience was essential to their choice of partner. As Claudia Henkel, Medice’s Head of Pharmacovigilance, explains:
“We have clear processes when selecting service providers. It is important for us that they can demonstrate experience and show that their PV professionals are sufficiently trained and well-versed in both global and local regulation. When we learned that PharmAdvice could cover more countries than Denmark, it was very helpful.”
What began as a local setup soon evolved into a broader Nordic collaboration, extending to Iceland and Sweden as a result of growing trust in the partnership.
Accuracy and experience in daily PV operations
One aspect of the collaboration that Claudia values highly is the consistency and precision of PharmAdvice’s services.
“In the management of local PV services, the team at PharmAdvice document and perform everything very accurately and with a high level of experience. This gives us confidence that all processes are carried out correctly and responsibly.”
This level of accuracy is essential in ensuring compliance and maintaining a stable pharmacovigilance setup across multiple markets.
Broad support and solution-oriented collaboration
While the collaboration is rooted in pharmacovigilance, Medice also benefits from support in related areas such as quality assurance and local market understanding, Claudia says:
“Susanne Felumb and her team help us with a wide range of questions. It’s a very good cooperation. Our affiliate in Sweden, for example, has a strong collaboration with PharmAdvice on quality assurance, and they support us with quality topics and in researching similar products in the market.”
Claudia finds the PharmAdvice team to be flexible and solution-oriented, accommodating requests for assistance beyond the scope of pharmacovigilance.
“The PharmAdvice team have a very good overview of the entire regulatory field, and we always find solutions together, even on matters outside the PV area,” she says.
A reliable partnership at a reasonable price
A defining characteristic of the collaboration is its consistency and the competence shown by the team. For Medice, the predictability and reliability of the collaboration is a sign that the setup works as intended.
“There have been no surprises. PharmAdvice fulfils all our requirements and expectations. The team is very responsive, trustworthy, and highly experienced. They are open to find solutions for all topics, and the price is very reasonable compared to what they deliver. Therefore, I am pleased to recommend Pharmadvice to others at any time.”
